Happy earth day.

My Jamo's birthday is on earth day, we were meant to be. Twenty years together and going strong, love him so much.

James is the most wonderful, funny, kind, caring, handsome strong frog that I've ever kissed. Thank you for your love and for always taking care of me. Wish you many many more healthy birthdays. This year he has to settle for one of my kid birthday card. lol and a home made cake. Feeling blessed.

My heart is full.

My first time growing Oakleaf  Hydrangea and they sure are gorgeous. This moon garden has turned out to be a little bit of a challenge. Trying to keep a garden all white, OMG what did I get myself into. It's so hard not to add color. I might go crazy and add a bunch of color, lol. Maybe that might be fun.  

These sweet little Roses are taking over the front garden path, just how I like to garden. It's almost like you have to ask for permission to walk by, after all they were here first. I took cuttings from these last year and they're doing great too.

Mulch once and it's done.

It's been so much fun designing this new garden. Taking my time and enjoying the process. My 20 year old established tropical garden oasis in Miami went through a lot of changes through the years as I'm sure this garden will too. I'm still learning about my new garden Zone 8b, much to learn and blessed for some friends that are helping me. In the mean time I'm working on the infrastructure, the bones of the garden. Trying hard to keep tropical plants off this garden, I want to create something different, something new to us. I do have some Elephant Ears and a few Cannas, but that is it, lol. 

Loving the look and sound of the Pea Gravel, I'm so glad we went with it. My Jamo is happy too and that makes me happy. Feeling so blessed.    

Found some old bricks scattered all over the property and I'm so glad I saved then. They sure came in handy.

Let the flower arranging begin.

My first Rose bouquet of the season, with Parsley because that's all I had. Thank you Lord for these beautiful Roses and for the precious time that I get to spend in my garden. 

  

 

The Parsley has gone to seed and it has these dainty and beautiful soft white flowers. Letting more Parsley go to seed. 

She's still hanging on, pretty and strong.

I'm in love with this Rose plant, she just keeps on. I'm so glad I went with two, one on each end of the kitchen garden. Going to try to see if I can propagate some. I have done it in the past, let's see what happens. 

 So happy about my sweet peas this year, they're putting on a show for me. What a blessing they have been.

The kitchen garden is almost completed.

I'm calling this the kitchen garden because it's just a few steps from the back porch for easy access. My talented Jamo worked really hand on this project, he's a perfectionist.  We took on this project last year and I'm so happy because it's almost all done. It's so good to start a new garden from scratch, nothing to tare down, just building your vision.  My favorite are the garden beds, made out of a strong composite and I know they'll last for a very long time. We purchased a garden shed from them over 15 years ago, it's been out in the hard Florida sun all this time and it's still as good as new. Even the doors still lock perfectly, of course they stopped making those sheds.  

I love the look of a rail fence, so we went with it and I couldn't be happier and feeling so blessed. We have two long narrow beds that out lines the outside of the kitchen garden and I'm keeping those areas with just flowers. I want to keep those pollinators happy. Still have to run drip to a few more beds and we can call it all done.  

I went with two featured urns in the center and keeping all flowers in those. They're the perfect size, just enough room to get around. My sister let me have this beautiful iron piece, she use to have it as a wall hanging and I'm using it as a garden mat.

I love these little pineapple fence post cap, found them in a garage sale, score. Saving some for other projects that I have in mind.I went with black because I wanted something really different, to be honest I was a little nervous about it. I'm so glad we did, LOVE the black.

Spring is here and I'm loving it.

My Nasturtiums are starting to bloom. I grow them from seed every year and they're pretty easy to grow. I love them because the entire plant is edible and it has a delicious peppery taste.
