Fountain make over.

I turned our water fountain into a feature pot, that's what I'm calling it. I've had this solid cement water feature for over 20 years and I so enjoyed it, but I wanted to do something else with it. Now I'll get to plan and plant something different every season.  

Loving my current view.

I love this old vintage bike, I wanted to put in a place where I get to see it. It's in front of our large picture window in the living room,I walk by it every day. I might eventually put it out in the garden some where, but then I won't be able to see it. Tried to keep the porch simple so we can move around, we love sitting out.

A little spring cleaning and rearranging things around. Sometimes it doesn't take much to get a fresh new look for the season.

Enjoying every minute of spring.

It's going to get hot fast and very soon, spending as much time as I can playing in the garden. 

This cool weather does a garden good.

Even though I'm new to this gardening zone, I'm sure this has to be a very unusually cool spring. This spring seams to go on forever and I'm loving every minute of it, thank you Lord. This weather is what gardeners look forward to all year long. This is the best time to be in the garden, whether it's getting those garden chores done or simply enjoying a peaceful garden bench.  

This is a new area I worked on this year. I made a stepping stone path right next to my 12 rain catchment barrels, now it's so  easy to get to them. I also planted a row of Elephant Ears and Cannas right along the front of the stepping stones. My idea is that the Elephant Ears will act as a curtain of green and hide the rain barrels. The rain barrels are black and they blend right in as it is, but I figure it can't hurt.
I think of this area as my tropical corner of the garden. Have some beautiful variegated coleus in the greenhouse that will be heading that way soon too.

Loving the pea gravel in this garden. Sometimes pea gravel looks great and sometimes, in certain gardens, it just doesn't seam like it belongs. But in this garden it looks beautiful.   

Awwwww the Roses.

I love Roses in the garden, not particularly fond of them in professional arrangements?? I wounder way? I know they can be a little high maintenance. I picked some varieties that are doing very well and I don't even need to cut the spent blooms, they just keep on producing. I think those are the Flower Carpet variety ones. 

Now the old fashion, like the David Austins do have some black spots on them already. I so need to find a good treatment for them. They are gorgeous and I don't mind the maintenance. But for my future purchases I'm sticking to the newer varieties. 

I love Gara, but this particular color it's gorgeous. The blooms seam to glow at sunset. Maybe I should try some white ones, I bet those will do the same.
