I'm so ready for fall, omg it's still so HOT.

I lowed the AC, just to pretend it was getting cooler outside, lol. Yeah right, It's so hot that it feels like it's never going to get cool again.
My sister made me this little ladder out of new wood, but I needed it to look old. I first painted it black and then Farmhouse white, I sanded the corners to distress it a bit and I love how it turned out. These were a few things in my prop closet, yes I finally have a closet space just for my decorating goodies. I still have all the fall boxed put away, it's a bit early, but hopefully in a few weeks I can get to them. I'm so ready for fall.

Lawn & Order, lol.

Had to share this, I found on Facebook, my hubby and I notice the area code and it's from Alabama. I called them, they're in Montgomery. God bless them, some people are so creative. We loved this show so much, we think we're actual investigators, lol.

July vegetables.

I don't know what's going on with the weather this year. I know I'm in a new garden Zone and I'm learning all over again. But, is not just that, the weather is strange. It's been so HOT, the tomatoes are not even setting blooms and I'm ready to pull them out.
I know next year my green house will be up and running, the 4x4s are up. I'm planning on staining them before I put the shade cloth up, that's the plan as soon as it get cooler.

The tomatoes that I do get are not even ripening on the vine, they are ripening on to of the counter.

These are my Jamo's hot peppers and they're hanging in there.

Just flowers but no fruit, it's so hot the blooms just fall off. How strange is that.

More Sunflowers.

These are from a seed pack I got at the dollar store, WOW. They love it here, but I soon learned that they have to be staked. We had a bit of a wind storm and they all fell down. I lost a couple that just broke off, but I'll be ready for next year. Planning on saving some seeds for next years crop.

Playing hide-and-go-seek.

My experimental potato harvest.

This is my first time growing potatoes, the seed potatoes I got at Walmart well past the planting season and they looked really bad, all dehydrated and shriveled up. My sister said "what have you got to loose", so I planted them. The plant had bloomed and died back, it had no leaves left, I knew it was time to dig even though, they were not in the grown long enough. I got lots of tiny little potatoes and few bigger ones.  Next season I'm going to the experts, my local Co-Op for help.

He's my gardening buddy, he's so sweet and gentle.

July Garden tour.

So happy how my experimental garden in our new home is turning out. I learned a lot, like my Zinnias and Dahlias need big time staking. Now the Sunflowers are coming in nicely and they also need support. The wind last night blew a few over, bummer.
The Hydrangeas are giving us a second round of blooms. I had no idea they did that. I have been hand watering from my rain barrels, so far I have not watered once from the tap water. I think that's awesome and I'm still doing my Fish fertilizing every 10 day, I love that stuff.  Thank you Lord for our garden, I'm loving every bit of it.

Some more pretties in my temporary art space.

I'm always on a tight budget and can't really spend much on things that are not necessities. That's a blessing I guess, because most of my little treasures are garage sale and flea market finds and they make me happy.
This pink milk glass my sister found for me and the figurine I found.

This precious little metal box hold my most favorite beads.

I need to get back to ATCs( artist trading cards) and get trading again.

These shabby little vintage tins were also found at garage sales.

That's my most valued picture.

These ballerina slippers were gifted to me by a beautiful friend, that I haven't  met in person, yet.  I covered them with vintage music sheets, glass glitter, lace trim and a little tulle. The beaded flower was also a garage sale find.

My perpetual calendar that I still use.

Teddy Bear Sunflower.

My experimental garden is still full in bloom. These are Teddy Bear Sunflowers, so pretty and they're just opening up. It's overcast and the lighting is not cooperating. They're a dwarf specie and the blooms can get up tp 6". They can only grow up tp 36". I think they'll make a pretty hedge, maybe next year. Non-GMO and the pollinators love them.
