A few more Christmas decorations.

In our  vintage , lol OLD, little cottage home every inch is accounted for and I think that's a blessing when you're downsizing and getting ready for your retirement years. Well, anyway, I had this little space that's kinda in the walkway area, so the piece of furniture had to be just the perfect size. I'm so happy that I found it at the local cute store that my sister has her consignment booth in, love that place. It's a reproduction piece, it's not really vintage, but I'm ok with it because it's perfect. 

Inside I stored all my tea things, nice and organized in baskets and I'm so enjoying the set up. It's suppose to be our real working coffee bar, but that's going to have to wait till after Christmas, cause now it's all pretty and dressed up. Not really functional, but that's a minor detail, lol. I will set it up as a working coffee station after the holidays, but for now I'm just enjoying looking at it.

              These little mugs are as sweet as can be. I just found them a few weeks ago in a garage sale.

                                 It just fits perfectly in that little spot. It took a little bit, but I found it.

This little metal basket I got a long time ago for the coffee station at my SPA and I just can't seam to get rid of it. It brings back memories of a lot of hard work, lol.

The Daffodils are getting read to put on their show, God's beauty.

What a blessing is to have a garden and watch it grow. I've been gardening for most of my adult life and I'm always amazed at all the new growth and beauty. I'm always so excited for spring time, but even now, there's growth everywhere. God is awesome, he made it all for us.

Trying to add some red to my Christmas decor.

I have been doing a white and silver Christmas for as long as I can remember, because I love it. Sometimes you just feel like changing things up a bit and it really doesn't take much to do that. I'm going to start by donating as much as I can from my white and silver decor, going to keep some, but donating most of it. 

This year I started by adding just a little bit of red here and there. I'm inspired by all the traditional Christmas decor all around our cute little town. This is such a pretty time of year around here and I just love and enjoy looking at it all.

These are a set of two red berry wreaths that I found at Hobby Lobby and I love how the look on those white cabinet doors, what a difference they make. I have the other one on top of the fridge.

My Christmas Traveler's Notebook is finally done

This TN size notebook I made for a very sweet and special friend, that's had a very difficult year. She is strong in her faith and God has helped her through it all, amen. Well, I wanted to make her something that she could use to document or just journal her Christ mas. I made a three signature TN notebook. I did go a little over the top, lol.  I know she likes laces and trims, and she's all about shabby pink, so I just went for it.

I used pieces of all kinds of yummyness here, the pink behind the flower is a piece of a vintage sheer  head scarf.

Here I folded back a piece of designer paper so that I could tuck some more embellishments, I wanted them to look like they were coming out through the book. 

            These are my fav chipboard pieces from the collection, how sweet are these little reindeers.

I used all my favorite flowers that I've been collecting throughout the years, just waiting for a place in this project  

I made some dangles and charms, just strung them with safety pins throughout the book for some extra interest. This one has a little crown hanging from the end, I love crowns. 

                  A lot of the laces and trims that I used are from her store and some are from my lace vault.

For the focal flower I just deconstructed and reg silk flower and built it up again. I added layers of sheer fabric, lace and some cheese cloth to give it a lot of dimension and interest. For the top I used a beautiful vintage brooch that I've been saving for just the right project.

             

              My favorite trims of all are the eyelet trims and there are plenty outlining the pages of this book.

The paper collection is primarily pinks, whites and some touches of a beautiful and soft sage green. The sage green in the background is a small piece is taffeta that I had left over from another project. The lace that's over it and it's the foundation covering the front and back of the books, is a piece of a vintage table cloth.

I use lots of beaded bridal trim  from old dresses that I'm always on the hunt for . I just love to tea dye and work with bridal trim in any and every way I can.

This project did take a little time to put together because just about every sheet of paper has some kind of sewing on it. I tried to add a piece of vintage lace, cheese cloth, eyelet or tattering trim. I tried to switch the stitching up a bit, from a zigzag to a running stitch and then back again to a zigzag.

The designer paper collection that I used is from Prima by Frank Garcia, I just love all his collections. This one is called 'Santa Baby' and it's from last year. It actually took me an entire year of just looking at it before I could brake into it. I know, it's a paper crafter  thing, lol.

The three signatures are strong and not going anywhere, but just for extra reinforcement I use some tattered sari silk ribbon in a really pretty soft cream color.  Tied all three of them up on the very top of the book and added a chunky charm dangle to mingle with the bows.

I added all kinds of new and vintage papers, like music sheets, book pages, grid paper, paper from the designer paper pad and plenty of regular pages for her to write on. This journal can be used to make and keep track of all your Christmas gift buying. Or use as a Christmas party planner. Take pictures and document things you did that month with your family or simply just write your thoughts. It can also be used as an end of year gratitude journal, where you can reflect on allllll your blessings for the year.

I made sure to cut and fit all the papers in different lengths and widths, that way all the pretty trimmings would be visible at a glance.

Fireplace Christmas decor 2019, feeling blessed.

Anyone that knows me knows that I love to decorate anything I can get my hands on. This is what I did with our fireplace, I'm calling it "Farmhouse Vintage Glam", don't you think?

My fav is the stag with the earrings, why not. I think home decor is another way to express your creativity and most of all have fun with it. It's your space, your sanctuary, just go for it. Also, if you don't feel like decorating, that's ok too. My motto is, do what makes you and your family happy.

I worked with what I already had, did not buy a thing for this. I have to admit that I've had those mercury glass trees for a very LONG time and I'm running out of ideas on how to use them. I hope I can pass them on to someone that will enjoy them, it will be new to them. 

I'm proud of that star, it was a garage sale find, here in Enterprise for one, yes one dollar from a really nice and sweet lady.
