A new/old shabby lampshade.

I'm so in love with this vintage lampshade frame, rust and all. My sister found it and saved it for me, I picked it up on our last visit. Kept it hanging from the rafters in the laundry room for a while, just enjoyed looking at it. Then I came across this fabric while cleaning my stashed bundles of never ending fabric. That's why I never get rid of fabric, I just can't. Well it turned out to be the perfect fit for my vintage lamp shade frame. Had to hand wash that piece of fabric, it wanted to fall apart, so old but not a stain on it, love it. The fabric is so soft looking, the light comes right through the fibers, so beautifully.

Mixe media in progress.

I'm always working on my art journals, but the problem is that I'm working on like 5 journals at a time. So I guess I'll be done with a bunch of pages at the same time. I do love so much to play with my art journals and canvasses too. All of these pages are far from done. I'm trying to challenge myself to use more magazine images on my collage pages. Will keep you posted on my progress.

So far so good, with my Roses.

Well they seam to be very happy in this spot. I will have to remove them from the pots eventually, but for now they are doing well here in this spot. We're in the middle of our hottest month August. I was inspire by a few people to give Roses a try again, but a special thanks to my sweet friend Bobbie Lynn, who has such a beautiful Rose collection. Her garden is a great source of  inspiration for me, take a peek you'll see what I mean.
I have been cutting them and bringing them in the house, there really is nothing like a Rose. God was having a good day when he came up with them.

Jewelry for my furniture, why not.

This hand me down piece was given to me by one of my sisters. I had painted it last year but I felt it still was not me. My sister suggest that I try changing the hardware and OMG that did it. Just that little thing made such a big difference. I went with clear, even though I was so tempted with the all the beautiful colors available. Now it's really mine, love it.

Loving my new little napkin holder.

Had to share one of the many goodies my sister recently got for me. They were here to visit a few weeks ago and came with the cutest little things she knew I would love. They left the busy hustle and bustle of the urban city for a lay back life in the country and they love it. I'm so happy for her and her family but I sure miss them. The surrounding areas where they live is junkin heaven. So much so that she has made quite a booming little  business for her self, that's her and her friend Beth.
She found this metal mesh napkin holder and I of course had to dress it up a bit. I used a pair of beaded vintage earrings, adhered one on each side with my favorite metal glue, E600. I think I'll use it to hold my loose mix media cards.

Summer garden beauties.

It's been very hot here in Miami and it's been raining just about every day. These mid summer showers are needed and thank God the sun comes out right after the rain. So excited cause my hubby just out of the blue said that he wanted to do the lawn. Now that's a big deal for us, you see my hubby does not enjoy gardening at all. He helps me with the heavy and hard work, but it's really not his passion, he just does it to help me. The man that does our lawn has stood us up for like a month now, I think he's had it with the large tree roots in the from of the house. I know they have bent a few of his lawnmower's blades. So James said, how hard can it be to cut the lawn. He went and got himself a little mower and a weed eater. It's been sitting in my living room for a few days and we just look at it, lol.  He's been reading all the manuals and watching tutorials on how to cut the lawn. I know it's something so simple, but he has to do his prep stuff, this girl is not complaining a bit. Baby steps, baby steps.

My spa work room.

I don't think I've ever posted anything about my work space.  Here is a peek at my work room. I have the chandelier right on top of the client's bed and it's on dim most of the time. I love classical music, my fav is nature sounds with classical music and my favorite scent in Lavender. So blessed to really love what I do.

My new milk glass lamp, so pretty.

I'm so happy how my lamp turned out. I've never actually done this but, I found lots of tutorials on You Tube. My sister and our friend Beth had given me 3 small milk glass lamps and I had no idea how I was going to use them. I had this very old lamp right on that same spot, but it was time for a change. So i decided to just make one tall lamp. It took a little doing cause it was my first time, but over all it was a simple project.
The lamp shade frame I already had, but it was brown so I used some beautiful white eyelet fabric that I had just enough. You can see on the very bottom the 3 pedestals from the original lamps. Thank you ladies for the beautiful lamps, I love them.
