Setting up my temporary art studio.

I know this seams like extra work for me, but I had to set up some kind of work space for now. I took the guess room and turn it into my temporary art studio. I'm attempting to unpack all the boxes and set up systems more or less how I plan for them to be, I figure this way I'll just move one area at a time to the permanent studio. Opening all these boxes feels like Christmas all over again.

I'm making sure that every pretty storage box is tag because I lost track of whats in were.   

This is an old cheese box that a sweet friend gave me and I altered it in a vintage theme. It keep my favorite paper dolls in it. I have another display in mind for some of my favorite ones. I love looking at paper dolls, they just warm my heart. 

     This cute tag came in a set and I love them all. Think I'll be using lots of                these.

 I love collecting vintage crystal chandelier drops. I used an old baking tin and pray painted it in ballerina pink, of course. I set the tin by the east window and the morning light makes them glow, oh so beautiful.

        This piece I found at Ross, not to long ago. I love this shade of green.

This 3 tear display piece I found in a garage sale. I can picture that a very talented carpenter made it. So I turned it into my glitter station. Now to find a lazy susan for it, I'm on the hunt, of course I'm not buying a new one. The sweet little swan is also a garage sale find, I love swans.

Sorry, you can't see the whole thing but this is the base of a wire stand that holds my favorite ATC (artist trading cards). This gorgeous heart is also a salvage find.

My DIY chalkboard project.

Oh I'm going to have fun with this thing. My Jamo cut me a piece of thin plywood like 48 x 48. I painted it with chalkboard paint in black and then I stated cutting the fence boards. I had a few left over from the kitchen back splash project. 

The bottom wire basket piece and the signs I found at HL and I think they're perfect for this little space.  For the chalk holder I cleaned up an old chicken feeder that I found at the metal yard. Now all I need is to find an eraser. This is the little hall way that goes from the kitchen to the TV room. I love how the ship lap looks, that was a job to expose but it was worth it. 

The garlic is because I'm trying not to catch the flu, it's working. I'm also taking Elderberry gummies and Echinacea.

Cant wait for spring.

My Jamo got these for me at a local nursery a while back. I'm just getting to posting them here in the blog. I tell you, this move has really taken a toll on me. When I can see a piece of floor I find another box and there goes the mess again. I think I'm getting old, no I'm old already. I meant I'm feeling old. I don't want to see another box as long as I live, lol. 

I really want to finish, I want to be FREE of any indoor projects by the time the weather warms up. I can't wait to start on our garden. 

God has been so good to us and we're so grateful about the move and all. But I want to be DONE already.

 I have never grown a Hydrangea, only enjoyed them as cut flowers. I can't wait.

So excited about having a Magnolia tree. I'll need all the sun I can get so I'm praying this one lives up to her name. 

Had to bring some cuttings in the house. For now that's all the gardening I'm doing.

Sneak peek at some home decor.

Purchasing a few little things here and there. Taking my time I don't want to rush into any item, I want to enjoy the journey. I'm going for a shabby cottage farmhouse thing. I do like metal and that's really in now with the farmhouse look but I like a little bit of it, here and there. 

This olive metal bucket looking thing is an umbrella stand. It's on wheel and it's it's not to big, perfect for out little mudroom are. 

Winter wonderland New Years table setting.

The inspiration for this table was my Villeroy & Bock Black Peal bone china set. I got this set in Germany for very little and is discontinue now, not that I need to replace anything yet and could not afford to anyway, lol. I think black and white is so classic and beautiful. 

I just love setting a pretty table, I think is because secretly I feel that I'm some how making up for my lack of cooking skills. We had pasta and home made meatballs with fresh mozzarella cheese, hubby cooked and it was so good.    

These little hats I embellish with vintage dictionary pages and a little metal charm. The little champagne bottles are picks. 

                      The chargers don't match but it all works some how.

These paper clocks are so easy to put together. The image I found on line, used my circle punch, hot glue gun, crepe paper and lots of glitter. Love them.

You can't see it but the center piece is set inside a black to hat that's an ice holder. I got a little carried away and covered it all up.  The table cloth was just a piece of shear snow flake pattern fabric found in a garage sale.

A dollar store candle that I wrapped up in some flexible bracelets. I think of candles as jewelry anyway. The sequence runner is a scarf, but I did not see a scarf when I found it.

My new little vintage serving table.

To think I, I wanted to pass it up. My sister and I saw this little serving table at a garage sale and I was talking her out of, it looked hopeless. I'm so glad she didn't listen to me, she said it was perfect for this little nook and she was so right. I'm in love with it now and I'm using it as a beverage station.   

               My sweet neighbor did the finish technique on it, she's amazing, will                     share better pictures of it soon.

Vintage and pink, happy me.

I'm so happy about our new dishes because I've been looking for a vintage set with lots of pink in them, not easy to find. My sweet neighbor pass these on to me and I just love them so much. So I decided to put them up in our little butler's pantry, but now that the Christmas holidays are over I have to come up with another way to incorporate them into a theme. There's only two of us and we are enjoying them everyday, have a set inside the kitchen cupboard.

                              It looks like lotus leaves to me, so pretty.

I love the green in them, that was the inspiration to incorporating them into a Christmas theme.

My Shabby Pink and Blue Christmas Table Setting.

I hope every one in blogland had an amazing holiday season. I miss visiting my favorite blogs and Pinterest boards but we're still settling into our new home. For the most part all of the unpacking and essentials are done, thank you Lord. I decided to just go ahead and corral the art supply boxes in the guest bedroom and just close the door. Except I can't close the door because there is no door, we want to put up a little barn door. We got the door and the track, but haven't had the time to put it up yet and seeing all those unopened boxes is driving me nuts, lol.  

So, for the Christmas holidays I wanted to do a little bit of decorating and get some creativity out of my system. I figured the easiest thing would be to set up a pretty Christmas table. The inspiration for the table setting was my new tableware that my friend and sweet neighbor found for me. I went with a shabby pink and blue theme. I think it turned out so sweet and fairy tail like that I don't want to take it down. I always aim for our table settings to be casual and relax but cloth napkins are a must. My silverware, glasses and chargers don't match and that's ok by me.
