I can't remember where I found this book, but I treasure it. It's beautiful. 

New garden treasures.

Loving all these garden goodies that my sister let me have. She's redoing her back yard and no longer wanted these. They're new to me and so pretty. Some I'm going to leave with the beautiful patina that they have, while others I will clean and paint. 

Working on these iron chairs, I think they are beautiful. Hoping to get a few more years out of them.

Valentine paper projects.

Working on a project for a swap that I'm in over at a Facebook group. The swap is called 

 " A Pocket Full Of Tags". I'm trying to select the primary paper and some embellishments All the paper collects that I've seen for Valentine are not doing it for me. Scrabooking I think is really going down hill, there use to be so many gorgeous paper collections ????

Making do with what I already have. These little mason jars are made of wood, I covered them with paper and embellished a bit. What I have in mind is pink, red with lots of  shabby white. My partner is a supper sweet friend and I'm hoping she'll like what I'll create for her. 

Loving this 12 inch Cameo.

My sister found this Cameo and gave it to me, I love it. Have no idea where I would be displaying it but, for the mean time I'm just enjoying looking at it. Maybe when of enjoying it  this way, I might separate the little 3D ceramic girls bust and use it some other way. 

Warning, SOAP BOX TIME.

 I'm an American that was born in Cuba. Always grateful to God and this amazing country that took us in. Cubans have always shared benefits that others oppressive countries don't (including among others, the Haitians. It always breaks my heart when they are turned back). But I so understand that we need legal migration programs and laws. I'm all for that, after all that is how my family enjoys the blessings of this great nation.
These special benefits that Cuban's have is because of the Cuban Adjustment Act of 1966. Basically what it boils down to is that Cubans in Cuba can LEGALLY migrate to the U.S. through various migration programs. This has change a bit with the wet foot dry foot adjustment that was made latter. This Act grantees, us Cubans, to become permanent residents after the required time ( a guaranteed green card) and on the road to becoming a US Citizen. This is truly a blessing and a dream for so many other immigrants. This Cuban Adjustment Act was given to us because at the time, 1966. We were fleeing from POLITICAL AND NOT ECONOMIC persecution from the communist. Many of our parent were thrown in concentration camps, they were worked and starved beyond recognition, it happened to my dad and it happened to so many other dads.

Now this is were I believe this act is outdated, gotten out of hand and needs to be revised. Any Cuban that comes from Cuba now and benefits from the Cuban Adjustment Act can legally go back to Cuban after they have been in the US for one full year. They can go back take our US dollars and continue to feed that communist and oppressive monster. They can make our US dollar stretch on amazing vacations, oh and yes and see the family.
Now if you are blessed with this unique immigrant benefit that is the Cuban Adjustment Act, why would you go back to the oppressive country that you just left??? This is the opinion of this humble Cuban American and many others. You can see how this is a divisive topic among friends and family. I believe this act is outdated and abused and it need to be changed.
This is going to be hard to do now, under this current administration. After all, the in thing to do now is go to Cuba on vacation.

Goodies from Bobbie Lynn.

What nice treat I received yesterday day from my sweet and talented friend Bobbie Lynn http://whyilovetogarden.blogspot.com/. It came just in time, I'm so enjoying the beautiful magazine and loving all of her gorgeous cards. 

Mission organization 2016, GO!

I've been wanting to do this for a few years now. I went ahead and purchased all new plastic bins, for some reason I wanted them all the same. I had a mishmash of  colors and they had all collapses into each other because they had no support in between them. I have to say I had them for over 10 years and I certainly got my money's worth. Hubby got me a few of these steel shelving units at Lowe's. I'm so happy that he went with these, they can hold up to 1,000.00 pounds per shelve. It might be a bit much than what we need, but I love them.   

                   I had to make labels for them and any excuse to play with my die cutting matching.

I love these bins, also from Lowe's. They have a snap on handle that locks the lids securely on. So worth what I paid for them. It was an initial investment since I replaced them all at once, but I'm so happy that I finally did it.

Whimsical paper clay fairy heads named after my sisters, LOL.

These little cute fairy heads were supper fun to create. I was inspired by an artist I saw in a Sumerset magazine a few years ago. I remember she lived in California but was originally from Turkey, an amazing artist, http://decaflatte.typepad.com/. I made them out of Paperclay too, so fast and fun. It also gave me a reason to play with my oh so treasured vintage jewelry.  I wanted to give them a little personality and some character so I thought of my sisters while molding, dressing and creating the head pieces, lol. 

I carefully curated the laces and trims, but the most fun was picking the little jewelry piece that I would bring them to life. I thought of who would like a tiara, a feather or a make believe shinny black top hat. Gather your supplies and your imagination, the sky's the limit.

 Ok, so these are my three sisters. I think they're so beautiful, if they see this I hope they think so too, lol.

   This cutie I created for the youngest of us all. Talk about the ultimate super mom, she juggles it all and if that wasn't enough, she keeps a doting eye on our mom. Enjoys life to the fullest and never stops. Has the most amazing kids. Always planning the next family adventure, this family is constantly having fun. Some what of a minimalist, if she doesn't need it she just doesn't have it. I want to be like that, but I'm a hoarder, I love my art supplies, there I said it.

This one  I created thinking of the second in line. She had to wait a little longer to become a mom, but what a mom she is. Has the most amazing kids. She's my vintage, shabby sister. Happily living her ever after in a little southern farm, animals and all. For her, everything is home made from scratch with lots of love and the crafter of the family, best cook ever. I also want to be like her, but I so can't boil water.   

This one I created for my third sister in line, I'm the oldest. She's a successful go-getter business owner. A very hard worker that somehow does a great job at managing home, work and loves to travel. Her kids are the oldest, but she's still on mom mode all the time. Has the most amazing kids. She's regal and elegant, very organized and OMG so super clean. I want to be like her, I want my home to be clean even in the areas no one can see, lol.  

I think In some ways we are all different and kinda the same, if that makes any sense. We all have a little of our hardworking, kind, grateful, giving, talented and funny parents in us.
