MY NEW SHABBY SEWING MATCHINE COVER.

Ok, so my plain plastic sewing machine case so needed a makeover. I had this beautiful fabric that use to be my niece's bedroom window balance and  a quilted pillow sham. My sisters know I save everything, that's why it all eventually ends up in my house. I think this fabric is so sweet, it's got all beautiful mix of the shabby colors that I love. I finally got around to making the sewing machine cover and this is what I came up with.

The very top of the cover is made from the quilted pillow sham and the sides are made from the balance. My sister had already added the little pink pomp pomp trim , and It worked out perfect.

I still have this long piece of fabric left over. It's the very top piece of the balance, the rod would go through the middle of that gingham fabric.  But you know I'm saving this piece, it's so pretty and I know I would use it in some other project. I still can't believe she was going to throw away this beautiful fabric, so glad I found a use for it.

THE DIFFERENT LOOKS OF MY ELLA.

I've been wanting to create a layout using my Webste'rs pages. Should I say my "old " Webster's Pages.  I don't know what happen but they have changed the look of their collections. Now their papers look like everyone else's.  I so like the old paper collections, this was my favorite company.  It's so disappointing, they were so different and unique.  Maybe it's me, why change a good thing????

Anyhow I shouldn't complain I have double of all their old collections, I so hoard it. So now I decided to use a little bit, lol. Actually this is velum on top of regular white card stock. I used one of my shabby flowers that I recently put together. This was an easypeasy layout, because this paper is so lovely just by it self.

This is my favorite area of the layout. I'm in love with these beaded leaves. These were regular white mulberry leaves that I glimmer mist and  added silver and pink micro beads. I made them to give away in a few RAKS to some shabby friends. I kept a few for me but, I'm so making more.

WHITE WASH PRETTIES.

I found this lot of white wash clothes pins, oh so shabby. They're beautiful just like that, you can still see the grain of the wood but, with a white wash. But, I though I would dress them up a bit. I covered the front with this Glitz paper that you see in the back and I used some Frogfeather tims and a little bling. Love them, I think they will make great gifts.

This little book I altered using the same paper collection. I just finish a new system for organizing and keeping tract of all my stamps, punches and die cuts. This little book is my reference for the inventory. I will share the entire system later, it's really working for me and I'm, using more of my supplies because I know where everything is at. Got to love that.

MORE SHABBYLICIOUS FLOWERS.

I ordered more trims from Lavish Laces, on Etsy. This time I only got creams and whites, my favs.  These shabby flowers are made from Frogfeather trims, they are so super soft. Very simple and fast to make and I'm all for instant gratification. Love how they turned out, some will be going in a few raks for friends. I hope they like them as much as I do.

A NEW ALTERED CANVAS BAG FOR A FRIEND.

This one I made for my sweet and talented friend Ms. Wanda. She loves shabby Parisian things, lots of laces and pink ballerinas. She actually loves everything that I love. I think we must of been sisters in another life, lol.
I made this bag in celebration of the completion of her beautiful craftroom. Take a peek at her unique and one of kind  CREATIVE SPACE, so beautiful and shabby. I think what I like best about her space is that she mentions in her video that all of her furniture  are one of a kind pieces, nothing matches, but she made it all work beautifully. That's what makes it such a beautiful space. .
I'm so happy  that she is going to be making videos. She's so sweet and creative and I can't wait for her to share some her work with all of us.

I LOVE SUMMER IN SOUTH FLORIDA.

This is the time of year that my favorite tree, the Royal Poinciana is in full bloom.  There's nothing like a Royal Poinciana (or better yet, a group of them) in full bloom, like in the nearby park that hubby and I go walking almost every day. The fine, soft, delicate leaflets create the most beautiful canopy of shade.
This beautiful tree is often broader than tall, growing about 40 feet high and 60 feet wide. Trunks can become as large as 50 inches or more in diameter.  Long beautiful, dark brown seed pods hang on the tree throughout the winter, then fall on the ground in spring, so beautiful.  Our Royal Poinciana is only about 8 or 9 years old, but she really puts on a show for us.  This was one of my dad's favorite trees too, we use to sell them at the nursery, such great memories.

I've also been cleaning up a bit, cutting back my Claw Heliconias  and  bringing them in to enjoy. I've also added a pedestal bird cage to the front porch.  I plan on painting the bird cage white, but for now I hung  this cute little coral chandeliers in it.

This is the view from our bedroom window, what a treat.

She also gives us this carpet of red fallen blooms.

I take such great care of this Ivy. It's so rare to be able to grow Ivy in this hot weather of Miami. But she loves this spot and who am I to move her. Once in a while I will very carefully trim a few pieces and add them to a home made floral  bouquet that I put together to enjoy in our living room. I see these beautiful walls of Ivy up north, so wish they would grow like that here.

We just added this ornamental rock next to the front garden path and I planted some red and green Bromeliads around it, I love how it looks.
