My one dollar garden hat photo shoot, lol.

Never waste a makeup application is what I always say, lol. Found this really cute and huge hat at a garage sale and it's like new, for just one dollar.  Right away I knew that it had to come home with me to replacement  my beat up old garden hat. I don't ware makeup to garden, but I do ware a whole lot of sunblock and with this big rim I should be ok. In my front garden I usually ware a visor cause I'm in and out, but in our back yard paradise I can spend hours playing in the dirty.  Not too shabby for a 60 year old, if I do say so myself, thank God for filters, lol. My hubby loves my silliness, he gets me. 

 

All that hard work on the front porch paid off.

The front porch was ready for a refresh, this little old house needs all the help it can get. It was time to freshen up the front porch, the deck stain was gray and dull and the white railing was really full of dirt.  So Jamo and I pressured cleaned everything, we gave a little paint touch up on the white rails and I restained the deck. 

I'm trying to stay busy and looking forward to new project and silly selfies, lol.  I'm trying to not watch a whole lot of TV. This Covid stuff is so very sad, all those families that have lost love ones and it's all over the world. Staying busy and focus on the things that really matter, like family and doing things that make me happy. God is so good and I feel so grateful and blessed.

A few fall little crafting projects.

Discovered a new digital artist that made these gorgeous fall digitals. I just had to play with them, so I made two of my not so mini junk journals, some tags and I altered some envelopes. I love her work, specially these. I love neutrals because you can use them in just about any project, specially those script envelops, love them. 

 

The garden was sure pretty this year.

It was and awesome year for the garden. Things are settling in and growing fast by now. The Crepe Myrtles are doing great and they bloomed for the very first time, so pretty.  These are the very last blooms for this season. The garden is getting ready to settle down and go to sleep, as far as the flowers go. 

The plan now is to start cleaning and getting the beds ready for fall planting, I've started a little, but have much more to do. I love every minute I spend outside planting and moving things around in the garden. 

My favorite thing this year is how the ornamental sweet potato vines creep over the gravel path. I love when a plant gets in the way and you have to walk around her, like - excuse me. 

 

Texture, texture and more texture.

I felt like playing a little with some mixed media products. These are two yellow manila envelops that I started to cover with paper scraps from my scrap tray. I then started building my texture layers. I first distressed the edges, did some stamping and I used a stencil with molding paste and finally some microbeads. I use to use microbeads in my art all the time. I forgot how much I love using them. Planning on turning these, some how, into some junk journal covers, let's see what happens.

These pretty ladies found a happy home. I know they will be much loved and they bring many hours of enjoyment to their owners. I feel so blessed to be welcomed back with open arms into this crafty/art community again. Sometimes God closes doors for you that he does not want you to take. Meanwhile leaving the one that he does want you to take, wide open. He knows how and why he does things and I'm so grateful that he put me right where he wants me to be. Making my art again, I'm never retiring. I'm so grateful for my customer and for the support. All this love for me. Thank you Lord.
