Our girls, together once again.

It's sad coming home and they're not there, but this too shall pass. Grateful that God let us have and take care of them for as long as we did. They are surely missed.

Relaxing weekend.

Our last name should be "relaxing", is what we do best. We love being at home, our home is our sanctuary and we love being in it. Not that their is anything wrong with people that don't want to be home, that love to explore new places and experience new things. Do what makes you happy. We never feel like we want or need to get away from home, I can't explain it. It's not about the structure or the location. I could live in a cardboard box with this man and I will be happy.  It's about who you are with. We're beyond blessed.
Well, anyway my sister-in-law invited us to come over her river house for the weekend, that was so nice of her. Just us, no kids, they stayed home with their dad. I think is nice when the fathers do that, give the moms a brake. I have so much admiration for parents, I don't know how they do it.  We had the best time, literally not doing a thing, just enjoying each others company. I love to see my Jamo around his family, he's so happy and even funnier, lol, if that's even possible. His sister is the female version of him, lol.

What's a road trip without stopping at some nurseries to look for treasure. I was on the hunt for purple Pansies, and Jamo found them.  I always have a hard time finding them and when I do, they go so fast. Plenty of yellow and other mix colors, but not plain purple. Found a Stevia plant too, that I've also been looking for and a sweet Supertunia, my favorites of all the Petunias.

There's always peace to be found in the garden.

Trying to get back into the rhythm of things again, but still missing our Pear. On this early morning garden walk, the roses are loving this fall weather and the Azaleas are starting to bloom, I love them, they are beautiful here in the south. My dad's "Tilo" (Linden Herbal Tea) it's like over 30 years old and it's loving it here. It has sure come in handy. Legend says that his herbal tea can fix everything, according to all Cuban grandmothers, from an upset stomach to calming your nerves. It really does work.

My dad went to be with the lord 30 years ago and this is a decedent of his original plant. My entire family has it and I always try to keep on hand propagations of cuttings to pass on to anyone that wants her. It's a great nerve calming tea, better than chamomile to calm the stomach. For a stomach calming, I add a little ginger water and it's amazing how fast it works. At all the Cuban funerals they pass this tea out, or they talk about having a tea when you get home, lol.

Our Pearl.

With so much going on I feel guilty posting about this. We are so grateful that God let us have her for so long. Our baby Pearl was 14 years old, she was blind and could not hear a thing. She was no trouble and I loved taking care of her. So when her little body started to shutdown we knew it was time. I held her on my chest all night Thursday hoping morning would never come, but it did. May God bless our vet and the staff for all they do.
Hoping to spend some time in my garden today, but it's hard to find anything pretty when you're emotionally bruises. God is awesome and he is seeing us through this, it will take a little time.
My Jamo is a happy and up beat guy, all the time joking around. I just can't stand to see him sad, that's the worst.
