Working on a new junk journal.

This baby is almost done, but I keep fiddling with it and add little things here an there. Working on a name for her, I usually name my junk journals after flowers or gardens???  She is full of vintage laces and of course lots if  bits and bobs, so much fun working on her. I used a vintage erring for the closure and I love it. I hope to find her a happy home, she's is going to make someone very happy, I just know it. 

On the back of a swan I'm bringing the garden in.

Found this beautiful wood carved swan in a garbage sale, he's a real treasure. I was not sure weather to paint it or not and I'm so glad I went with milk paint, LOVE. I'm hoping to maybe have enough blooms for another arrangement before the season is over. My Jomo even liked it.

Working with what I have and kept it kinda simple this year and I love how it turned out.

Love me some Zinnias.

I'm so glad that I always over plant the Zinnias. I just love them and can enjoy them way into the deep summer. 

The garden at dusk, it's a good time.

Who am I kidding, every time in the garden it's a good time. I'm so happy with my plant selection this year for these urns. I'm particularly loving the Gara, what a beauty. I have made myself a 5 year plan to get this garden fully established and I'm pretty much done with this years's to do list.

And just like that, summer is here. Everything has taken off, the eggplants, onions, yuca, peppers, beans, tomatoes, the lettuce, spinach and kale are hanging on. Planning on harvesting potatoes today and flowers, lots of flowers. God is blessing us with a plentiful upcoming crop.

Eggplants are looking great. This year I just planted two plants, last year I planted four and I gave out to everyone I k.new and I still had lots left over. Maybe this year I will try and donate some to a food bank? Have to find a food bank first.  

I'm so grateful for this long beautiful and mild spring, I loved every minute of it. I'm way ahead on my project to do list and my Jamo is so proud of me for doing it by myself. After all it's the least I can do, handle my own "to do" list,  he works hard. Starting a new garden is not for the faint of heart, you have to love it. It's lots of hard and rewarding work, but it has to come from the heart. I just know that God is going to bless us with a good harvest again this year. 

First time growing onions and they look good to me, but let's see what happens. If anything I can use the stocks.

This is my Yuca Yuca that my mom brought to me from Miami on her last visit. I kept Christmas on them all winter long and they made it. Now they have to grow and just maybe I'll get a little harvest. You eat the root of the plants. You can fry it or boil it with a little garlic mojo and OMG it's so good.

    These are two year old plants that I over wintered because they were so prolific last year. So glad I did.

These purple bush bush beans are new to me this year, I hope they taste good because they sure look pretty.

Snow pear are still coming in, my  favorite. Next year I'm going to plant way more, but I say that every year.

This cute little trellis I found in a garage sale and it's perfect for the garden beads, not too big. I bet I can so built some.

      I got about 16 different varieties in this year, most are heirlooms. I think I planted way too much.

                              Been eating on these for a couple of months, but they will soon bolt.

I so need to finish the drip tubing grid on these garden beds. I just have two more to do, but it's getting way too hot. We have been blessed with a long spring this year and I was able to get so many out door projects compleated.
