PLAYING WITH MY SCRAPS.

I can't resist buying the complete paper collections and using kits, I love them,  they're so beautiful and it's all there for you. But what to do with all the scraps that I can't seam to part with.
Well, I'm on a mission, to use all my left over bits and pieces of paper and embellishments. Every piece of paper and embellishment in these two layouts came out of my scrap pile. There are about five different paper collections here and because I tried to stay in the same color hues, it seam to have worked for me.
I would of never thought of using October Afternoon and Graphic 45 together, only because they're so different and I don't think I could make it work. But I did here on these layouts, see if you can find them. The pieces are small, but they're their.

On this layout, I also used mostly scraps. The lace was all I had left from a previous project. The little house cut out is from an old kit.
What I also liked about using my scraps is that I can be extra generous with my layering.  I guess I don't really need an excuse, I just love layering anyway.

4TH OF JULY PROJECTS.

I'm planning on taking some good pictures of the fireworks , but I only made one layout so it better be a good picture. The paper that I used for my layout it's from a few years back. I got it at Michael's and it's from a K & Company collection.

This banner I made last year and I love it. I hung it on the bookshelf that holds my scrapbooking supplies.

l'M LOVING THIS NEW VELVET PINCUSHION AND WIRE BASKET.

I'm planning on making some altered pins just for her. I think I'm going to go along with the gold and tan colors only. I found her in a thrift shop and the moment I saw her I just knew she had to come home with me. The wire basket I found at a local retail store. I love the finished on it so much that I'm going to try and duplicate it on some of my other basket.

It's the little things in life that really make me happy.

My garden tea party for ARTFUL AFFIRMATIONS.

I love this blog event that Ms. Terri over at ARTFUL AFFIRMATIONS came up with. She's a great source of inspiration for me blogging, take a peek at her beautiful blog and you're going to love her too.
Well, she had this great idea for a Tea Party Event, and this is my take on it. What a better place for my tea party set up than on my favorite quiet and peaceful spot, pool side. We spend quite a bit of time in our ever changing urban oasis of our humble back yard . I love this spot because I'm surrounded by these huge tropical Areca Palms. I call this spot, my wall of green.  The tea table is set close enough to the pool that I can enjoy the cascading sounds of the water fall, so relaxing.

Now for my set up, a la cheapo, actually I already had everything I need. For the linens I used a vintage crochet round table cloth.  I collect white cotton napkins, but this one is not vintage. The cute little silver tea spoon with the tea pot at the end is from a set of 12 that I've kept from when I had my spa. I would serve my clients a mix of herbal/detox tea and I would use these little silver spoons for a special touch. I love them .

The rest of the goodies on the tea table are all bits and pieces of tea sets that I have collected though out the years. The golden brown outdoor chandelier, I get to light up and enjoy almost every evening. I love how my little tea table set up turned out and I can't wait to see what the other ladies came up with for their tea set up. Thank you Ms. Terri for hosting this great event, It was a lot of fun planning and setting up for it.

Canvas bags I made for my sister.

I've been wanting to try and transfer some images to canvas. I got the iron on transfer paper down pack but I've never done a transfer with gel medium. So simple, the hardest part is to just leave it over night to dry, I couldn't wait to see.  I transferred the images on these canvas panels and then I added the panes to the bags.

I'm sending these to my sister Dolly, should I say my primitive sister, lol. I made a special bag for her with her logo image that she loves so much but I forgot to take a picture of it before I mailed it. These are for her store, I hope she likes them.
