Working in the green house.

Today I worked a little in the green house. I cleaned all the clay pots and now they're ready for spring. I fertilized the new seedlings for the first time. They're looking great and I can't wait to put them out. I'm super excited to see the new Snap Dragons, they are going to be gorgeous. 

                           These are the Snaps, they look good and health, but they're still very little.

These are all heirloom tomatoes 9 different kinds, shared some with my neighbor. I hope they do well for us.

New hanging basket for the back porch. It doesn't look like much now, but wait till it takes off. It's going to be gorgeous.

New babies waiting for a home.

My wonderful hubby treated me to all these new plants. I also picked up 2 Crepe Myrtle, a Gardenia, 2 Rose of Sharon, a Flowering Dogwood and 4 Conifers. All those I consider an investment, the annuals are gorgeous but they're annuals. I'm growing lots of annuals from seeds and they're looking great. I can't wait to plant them in the garden. 

The garden is finally waking up.

I never had a garden that actually went to sleep. We enjoy the four seasons here in my new zone 8b, even though we have mild winters, it's still winter. The temperatures do drop to freezing on occasions, but is not more than one night. You can definitely enjoy spring here and I love it. 

These babies are looking so beautiful. I picked up some Petunias because they're my favorite, but I'm growing most of my annual from seed, the green house if almost full.   

Free mulch for the garden.

This beautiful old oak tree has been such a blessing. Not only is it gorgeous and it looks magical in the background, but it also sheds a lot. It gives me free much and it looks so natural, I love it.  

Cute shabby little trim and lace kits, full of little extras.

Took a brake from the garden today and worked on these cute kits. 

They are full of little doodads, flowers, laces and trims. This was so relaxing to put together and it kept me away from watching the news. This Coronavirus is going to be around for a wile and it's so sad to see those number go up. The news was absorbing me and I just couldn't do it any more, it's so sad. I need to keep busy and surround myself with things that bring me peace. I believe that God will make this soon pass.  

Sweet peas in the garden, finally.

My favorite, not very many this year because we had a very mild winter. I have never been able to gro them before I moved here to Alabama, so I'm so grateful to even get a few. 

This is dill, I love dill in the garden and it makes for great filler in floral arrangements. Planning on scattering more seeds around the garden.

I wish I learned how to can.

These beauties are from my talented sister that can do it all. To be perfectly honest I'm so scared of the canner, it looks dangerous to me, lol. So I think I'm going to stick with what I know how to do and that is growing. I'll grow it and she can can it. 

I still have lots of these from years past and they sure come in handy on those days that I have nothing cooked and we can't wait. She makes the best black beans, she learned from mom. In this batch she gave us some taco soup, it's so delish. 

Early morning garden walk.

I'm so happy with my hummingbird feeding station that my hubby built for me last year. It was a total success and they came. This year I would love to train a vine up the post, I thing that would look so pretty.
