Garden walk and a cup of tea, life is good.

We're expecting rain and I can't wait cause the garden surely needs it. I'm getting a few blooms and lots of new growth everywhere, so happy. The woodland cutting garden area has turned out better than I could of imagine. This year all the perennials came back and I had just enough room for the annual seeds that I purchased, so doing that again next year, BIG money saver. 

Today I started 2 hanging baskets and would love to do another one. Last year I had a much smaller garden area and I was able to hand water from the rain barrels, but that's impossible this year. Hoping to get some of the drip irrigation system going before the HOT summer days begin.    

This Begonia is in a pot, from the big box store and I'm hoping to propagate it because I love that color so much and I have plans for them.

These Pansies are from last fall, they did great during the winter and the're still going. The vine is a Sweet Pea that I planted from seeds and I'm so excited to see if it will bloom before the hot days creep in.

This gorgeous variegated Naturism is also from seed and I've never grown them before and I'm also so excited with these beauties. The entire plant is edible, I can't wait to throw a few flowers in a salad.  They droop down so beautifully that I want to add one in a hanging basket combo.   

               I'm so happy with these urns and they're not even in full bloom yet.

These are the second batch of Sugar Snap Peas, They're a delicious addition to   my salads and I can't keep them on the vines. My Jamo says that he can't find any pods in full maturity, cause I eat them all, lol. He's right!

I threw in some Alyssum seeds in the bottom of these two containers. I have a bamboo trellis with some Painted Lady Runner Beans and I can't wait for that one too.   

I tucked some Petunias in any little spot that I was able to find in the cutting garden , I know it's an old fashion common one, but I love them.

                          These are more Pansies from last fall, amazing.

Organizing my art studio.

Organizing and revamping my new studio, can't wait to share it. Mainly working on mix media supplies and journal storage. Trying to keep them all in one area instead of all over the place. Of course I had to stop and work on some new little journals.

Winter sowing project, awesome.

I'm so doing this again next year. The germination rate was like almost perfect. They look so health and ready to come out of the bottles. 

Oh, yes.

The older I get the more I learn that I can only handle one thing at a time. Been working in my garden for weeks now, It keeps calling me. But today I wanted to spend a little time in my art studio surrounded by some of my pretties. Now to actually work on a project, lol. 

Found a new home for my Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.

This beautiful plant my mom gave one to me my sister and one to me. She made the trip from Miami to south Alabama. My sister's is doing beautifully, her plant is in full bloom now. Mine, I think was in a way too shaded area. I decided to transplant her next to this little stepping stone side path that connects the kitchen garden to the cottage garden. She will get lots of sun in this stop and I'll get to see her from our double glass back door. 

I love Yesterday Today and Tomorrow, yes the shades of colors are beautiful. But, OMG the fragrance is divine.  Thank you Mima. 

        She's got pretty new shoots coming up, can't wait for mine to bloom.

SPRING IS HERE.

Found a home for this Nasturtium and a little playing with my rocks. Spring is here in zone 8b, now to find homes for all my winter sow babies. I need more garden space, lol.

Spring is here in my new Zone 8b. Our last frost date is March 17th, but that can always change. I do have a larger garden space to play with now, but it's still very manageable. Jamo got me some garden fleece material that I've been wanting, I'll use that to cover the plants in case of  a late frost. Have to take pictures of my kitchen garden, lots of lettuces, spinach, snap peas and herbs are coming up.  

These beautiful Irises have reproduced so much that I'm relocating some all over.  

We have lots of this Sweet Kate Spiderwort growing wild all over the back yard. I have integrated some along the flower cutting garden. I love a bit of purple in the garden.

I can't believe these Pansies are still blooming from last fall.They love the cool weather and they can sure take a frost. These were just an experiment, but will be a fall fav from now on.

Azaleas are starting to bloom already, so beautiful. All my neighbors have them, they're a garden staple here in the south.

My side cutting garden will have lots of yellow, purple and orange with a little pink towards the end leading the eye to the Cottage garden area. I'm naming all my gardens, to make my design and labeling easier on me as I journal.

I planted just a few Tulips and Hyacinths in a couple of urns, just to see how they would do and apparently they do great in this zone. Definitely planting lots of bulbs this fall.
