IN LOVING MEMORY OF MY DAD.

 

I've been wanting to scrap these thirty year old pictures of my dad and me for a while now. My dad was a simple, kind and very funny man. An Old Spice, white t-shirt and khaki kind of guy that loved the outdoors, animals and of course his four daughters and my mom. He was older than my mom and almost doubled her age, so I guess you could say he had five daughters, lol.

I got married on a beautiful spring day in a garden, inside an iron patina green  gazebo by a lake, swans and all. I got married in a garden just because I knew that my dad would be more comfortable outside, surrounded by nature, than in the inside of a formal church.

It was a beautiful non-traditional family only event. My sweet mom made my one of a kind wedding gown. Can you believe that she had never sewn a wedding dress before. I had Ostrich and Lady ferns, my favorite, everywhere. The crystal beaded bridal head piece and the all orchid bridal bouquet were made by me. The Asparagus ferns and other greenery in the bridal bouquet were all from our nursery.

 

He looked so handsome in his tux and I remember feeling  so proud and blessed that he was my dad.

I can't really say I have a favorite. I'm just in love with all of them. Which one is YOUR favorite piece? I'm going to be using these for an up coming tea party that I'll be having here on my blog. I'm still on the look out for a few more things. I'll keep you posted, it's going to be so much fun.

 

Beautiful shabby flowers from Ms. Muriel and how I display and enjoy my ATCs.

I recently participated in a private one on one swap with the super talented Ms. Muriel. These  are the beautiful and  shabby one of a kind  flowers that she made just for me. I still can't stop looking at them, I love them all. Take a  peek at her You Tube channel, HERE, she's the flower queen.   

This is a 6 feet wall that lines one side of my little quaint scrap nook area, heaven.  I found these iron pieces at Pier One and I'm still not sure what they're meant to be used for. But, I use them to display my ATCs.  My laundry room is right behind the louver doors so I get to see them everyday. I think of them as a splash of art  and I love that.

NEW SYSTEM FOR STORING MY LACES.

 I've haven't been able to get my creative juices going yet, but I know I will.  I however find myself wanting to organize and re-organize my supplies. I've come up with a few new ideas that I'm loving. But, this pretty system for storing my yummy laces is my favorite.  

This seams to be working for me. The only problem is that I already ran out of room in this basket. I'm off to find another basket. 

 

So forgot to mention that most of these gorgeous laces were given to me by my sweet and kind friend Lorisa. So thankful.

A THANKFUL BUT SAD POST.

It's with great sadness that I do this post. Our 14 year old baby Jules is no longer with us. She was diagnose a few months ago with a collapse trachea and we could no longer help her. We tried it all, from meds to holistic and she lost the battle. We had to make the hard decision of putting her to sleep. She was suffering and not getting enough oxygen, so  hubby and I had to let her go. God put her in our lives when she was 4 month old and we are so grateful. Thank you Lord for blessing us and  allowing us to have her.

She was the sweetest little thing and we miss her so very much. We walk around and cry for no reason. But, what breaks my heart the most is that her buddy Pearl is so sad, she keeps looking for her and we don't know what else to do to distract her. I know that with God's help, this too shall pass.
