Bromeliads, I just love them.

These are the heart and soul of our garden. Talk about the reliable perennials coming back year after year. I have these guys in containers, on rocks, as paths liners and as the good old ground cover. They need water about once a week, they love being out doors and in our humid subtropical climate they seam to thrive . I've never fertilized or amended the soil on any of them, I know I'm bad. But they seam to like neglect and on top of that they give you little babies that you can transplant some place else. I've gotten some from clients and I've also shared lots with clients and friends.
I'm sorry to say that I don't really know the botanical names for most of them. I just know the ones that love the sun and the ones that do much better on partly shaded areas, so I just let them tell me and I go with it.
