ORNAMENT SWAP.

I joined the ornament swap over at OOH LA LA VINTAGE TREASURES and this is my take on it. I've been wanting to use my new Sizzix ornament die. I cut the snow flakes with medium size chipboard and then covered them with designer paper, Madeline collection.
Of course I had to use glitter and a tiny little vintage doily. The category I was in was Shabby Chic.

The little Christmas tree I found at a thrift shop, for a quarter, can you believe that! He was pretty beat up, but I saw his potential. I covered the stand with vintage music sheet paper. I had to re-bead a few spots because some of the beads were loose. For the little tree top I used a vintage plastic earring from my stash. I think is a snow flake, or at least it looks like it to me. I love him, and I put him right in front of me, at eye level, in my scraproom.

MY WINTER WONDERLAND.

Sometimes when I look around my home, I'm overwhelmed with blessings. Not for the material things, but for the LOVE and PEACE I feel all around, from my family and friends.

I LOVE to decorate for the seasons, well lets be be honest, I just love to decorate. This year I'm going to transform our little home into a winter wonderland. The tree we got at the Home Depot and I thought they were very inexpensive this year. There's nothing like the smell of real pine all around the house during the Christmas holidays. I even like how the broken pine needles look as they gradually fall on the tree skirt. But, what I like best is the imperfect look of a natural tree.

All of our ornaments and decorations I've gotten after Christmas, I never pay full price!!! I used all white strings of lights because I love how the snowflakes, icicles, and glass and crystal ornaments reflect the glistening lights. A silver and white feather star topper adds the perfect finish.

For the tree skirt I used just a piece of fabric from Jo-Ann's. The nativity set is my favorite. I got it in Quito, Ecuador a very long time ago. It's very special to me because I met the artist who sculptured the one of a kind pieces from raw clay, just for me. I added some sprinkle frosted pine cones around the nativity scene, for that final little touch.

I'm still working on some white garlands, they take a while to put together, almost as long as the tree. I think is because I enjoy creating them so much that I don't want to rush it. Stay tune there's much more Christmas eye candy to come.

SOOOOO EXCITED!!!!! I've been published in Somerset.

Yes, I'm still in shock........I never thought it would happen to me. But, some of my friends and family thought I could do it, so I tried. Thank you my sweet friend, IVETT for the inspiration.

I went for it and submitted an art collage piece to my favorite magazine, Somerset SEW. They don't let you know that your piece was accepted, they just send you a copy of the magazine. I thought the magazine I received was a birthday gift. I soon figured it out when I saw no card. Then I saw the publication name, I remembered that was the magazine that I had submitted to. Can you imagine how nervous I was as I turned the pages, looking and hoping. Finally I got to my page, page 133. The magazine is not out yet, it will be out on Dec. 1st. I do plan to purchase a copy, LOL.

Goodbye crop for Kathryn :(

This was our goodbye crop for Ms. Kathryn she is moving and we will miss our friend. I remember the first time Olga, Kathryn and I met, we had so much fun. But, we can always find her on her ning sight. We wish her well and a smooth transition. The crop was hosted by sweet Ms. Janet she had a great idea for us to make her individual pendants with our info. Then she stung all of our pendants up into a banner, it turned out beautiful.

This was my first time in the store's new location. OMG I love THE PAPER NICHE the new store is huge, bright, beautiful and fill to the rim with the latest products. I love it!! So worth the 100 mile round trip to get there. I told the owner she needed to open one in Miami.

I met a new friend, she recognized my voice from my You Tube's. I thought that was so funny. Well, she teaches and works at the store. She is amazing, so I'm going to have to sign up to one of her beautiful card making classes.
